Organizacija znanja (OZ) is a multidisciplinary professional and scientific journal published by IZUM, the Institute of Information Science Maribor.
OZ publishes original scientific articles, review articles, short scientific articles and professional articles, interviews, reports, reviews, bibliographies, and news in the area of information science, librarianship, information technology, science sociology, epistemology, and cultural studies. It deals with topics such as the emergence, organisation, storage, transfer, evaluation and application of knowledge, especially in the area of library and information services. A separate part of the journal is dedicated to notifications aimed at COBISS system users.
Between 1996 and 2001, OZ was entitled COBISS Obvestila (ISSN 1408-8134). In terms of organization and content, the journal has always been closely related to the COBISS library information system. It allows the users of this system and others to publish their research results and development experience, as well as acquainting them with news and current professional issues related to information and communication technologies (ICT) in libraries and other institutions in the area of information science.
For scientific articles and other high-quality and innovative professional contributions, anonymous peer-review is used.
Until recently, the journal was published quarterly in printed (ISSN 1580-979X) and electronic (ISSN 1580-9803) form. Since 2014 (Volume 19), the journal has been published twice a year in electronic form only. In 2014, the journal experienced an overhaul in terms of functionality; from Volume 19 onward, the journal has a modern graphic design.
OZ is indexed in the following databases: COBIB.BH, COBIB.CG, COBIB.MK, COBIB.SI, and COBIB.SR (COBISS), as well as in the WorldCat bibliographic database and in the full text ProQuest databases (ProQuest Library Science, ProQuest Research Library and ProQuest Central).
